We are looking forward to welcoming children to Exhall Junior School on Monday 6th September. The staff have all been busy getting the school ready and planning lots of exciting opportunities for the children.

We are continuing to work to the most up to date DfE and WCC guidelines to ensure that we keep our school community safe. There have been some changes to the arrangements in school since July, but we are still working hard to make sure that school continues to be a safe place for everyone. We are aware that Coronavirus has not gone away and so whilst enjoying some freedoms, we will continue to be vigilant and maintain some measures that we feel are important. Face masks are no longer compulsory but we are very happy for parents and carers to wear them, especially if they need to talk to other adults when on site.

There will no longer be staggered start and finish times for students.  Playground gates will open at 8.35 am, and on arrival children will make their way onto their playground.  Any child arriving earlier than, can wait in line on the path into school as before. The bell will ring at 8.45 am and children will be taken into class by their teacher.  At the end of the day the school gates will be opened at 3.00 pm, and children will start to be dismissed from class at 3.15 pm, with the aim of everyone to have left by 3.25pm.

After School Clubs will start week commencing 13 September.

We still have places left on some clubs so please contact the school office if you would like to book a place for your child.

Please keep an eye on your emails. The office work incredibly hard to keep you informed, you might one to add their email to your contacts list so emails don’t go into your junk folder.

You should have received an email stating when your child’s PE days is/ are. Your child should come to school in their PE kit to wear for the full day – please, follow the dress code sent out to you, football kits etc are not allowed.

After a summer of grey clouds, it looks like it’s going to be a sunny week, please make sure your child has their own drinks bottle – facilities to refill are freely available. Carrying on the water theme, can you remind your child that if they do need to go to the toilet, just ask the teacher and permission will be given. We do encourage and remind the children to try and go to the toilet during break and lunchtimes, and not during the time when the teacher is delivering the lesson, but if they need to go, they need to go! Please let the office know if your child has specific needs in this area, or speak to the class teacher, they are all now back on the front playground at the end the day.

Communication is key to a happy and supportive school, so please make sure that you let us know of any issues/ concerns/ questions you may have. Everyone is part of the success of Exhall Juniors, and we truly believe that Together Everyone Achieves More.
