Firstly an update on the pandemic. We are experiencing increasing staffing absence, which means that your children may not have their regular class teacher for a short period of time. I would ask for your patience with this; we will always try and provide consistency of staffing, but it is not always possible. Supply staff are at a premium and staff absence is putting the school under further financial pressure. However, we always try and do the best we can and put the children first when making decisions.
There has been an increase in cases among the children in some classes as there have been in schools locally and nationally. In fact, the national data suggests a rapid rise in cases in the 0-5 age range, which will impact older siblings for us.
Please be aware that headteachers have been directed to keep classes open with face-to-face learning as a priority, and can only take decisions to close with the agreement and input of Public Health England and the Local Authority. We continue to appreciate the support of many carers/parents and families during this time.
Despite all the Covid concerns, we cannot quite believe that we are coming to the end of January, it has certainly been a very busy start to the new year! Your children have been fantastic, and the staff have been working incredibly hard to ensure that we have remained fully open providing the best high quality learning experiences possible for your children.
