Dear Families,

On Friday, Y6 had their £5 Challenge Fair. I would like to thank the staff for organising and helping out with such a wonderful event; a special thanks to Miss Smith who stepped in at the last moment to be the target in the wet sponge throwing stall. The atmosphere was amazing, Y6 were so skilled at running their stalls and have made an impressive profit – details will follow when all the pennies have been counted.

Transition Day on Wednesday

Most of our Year 6 children will head off to their new secondary schools on Wednesday, and we wish them luck on their new adventure and the next phase in their education. Please remember they go directly to their secondary school, if you haven’t already done so, please confirm if your child’s secondary school has a different transition day.

Meanwhile, the rest of the children in school will meet their new teachers. Teachers are currently handing over information to the new teachers so that they are fully aware of any particular needs or circumstances. If there is anything additional that you think your child’s new teacher needs to know, please get in touch.

We will let your child know the teacher/s they are with on Tuesday. From September we will have three Year 3/4 classes – Miss Bath, Miss Southam and Miss Wilkins, and three Year 5/6 classes – Mr Burch, Mrs So and Miss Spencer. Miss Davies, and Mrs Nethercott, who is new to the school, will also have an opportunity to meet the children they will be teaching as well.  It's a sad farewell to both Miss Shepherd and Mrs Bhave, we wish them well as they move on to their new schools in September.

COVID Infections Increasing

As you are aware, cases of Covid infections in the community are increasing. We are continuing to follow the current NHS guidance regarding Covid Symptoms in school. If your child has a temperature and sickness, please keep them at home until they are well – three days is recommended. You do not need to carry out a test unless medically advised to do so. The NHS guidance for children is available here: NHS Link

The coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccines are being offered to children aged 5 to 15, printed details are available, or have a look at this LINK. Two doses are being offered to children aged 5 to 15 to give them the best protection against COVID-19.

Out in the Sun

Please ensure your child is prepared for the weather (even on dull days as these can turn into hot days) – sun cream/water bottles/ hats. Hopefully, these will be needed for Sports’ Day on Friday.

Wednesday - Transition Day

Friday – Sports’ Day – details have been emailed out to you. All children to arrive in their PE kit.

PE and Forest School Days

Due to Sports' Day on Friday, PE is canceled for those children who have PE Monday - Wednesday. Those having PE/ Forest School on Thursday will be having their lessons, and so will need to arrive in their kit.

Outside Achievements

Please remember to send in details if your child has achieved things outside of school for our Friday celebration assembly. The students love sharing with us what they have been doing.

Thank you
