Dear Families,

Welcome to our final weekly update of this academic year. For the first time in a few years, the children have been able to access what has essentially been a full year of school that’s fully open and operational for everyone. We are all glad that normality is returning - just don't look at the weather forecast!

Your child will hand you their view of their year this week through their own end-of-year report. The report will also provide you with an overview of your child’s attainment and attendance.

As the school year draws to a close, we ask that you ensure that your Pay360 accounts are up to date and not in arrears. Debts will be carried forward to the next academic year. Your ParentPay account can be set up to alert you of low balances to ensure that a debt doesn’t occur. Unpaid meal debts will be followed up and if your account is in arrears of more than £7.50 we may ask that your child brings a packed lunch until the debt is cleared. Here’s the link PAY360

You will be aware the Met Office has issued a red extreme heat warning for Monday and Tuesday. The Department for Education (DfE) has issued schools with guidance on keeping children safe during a heatwave, and you have been sent a letter outlining what you and the school will be doing to support your child. Please ensure that all children have a sun hat and water bottle in school with them next week, they can wear their PE kit instead of uniform. Further advice and support with regards to staying safe and cool in the sun can be found at: https://www.nhs.uk/live-well/seasonal-health/heatwave-how-to-cope-in-hot-weather/

COVID Infections Increasing

Covid infection rates in the community are high. We are continuing to follow the current NHS guidance regarding Covid Symptoms in school. If your child has a temperature and sickness, please keep them at home until they are well – three days is recommended. You do not need to carry out a test unless medically advised to do so. The NHS guidance for children is available here: NHS Link
